Also performing will be the Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble and the Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra both of which are directed by Dr. Gregg Gelb, and Kathy and Chris Gelb, daughter and grandson of the late Paul Montgomery, a longtime musician in the Raleigh area and beloved “Uncle Paul” of WRAL.

Music lovers are in for a treat in hearing Dr. Ronald Carter. He serves as lead artist for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Band Director Academy and education consultant for the Essentially Ellington Program. He has performed with Clark Terry, Lou Rawls, Jimmy Dorsey, Terrell Stafford, and many others. He is in Downbeat Magazine’s Hall of Fame and has recently performed at the Chicago Jazz Festival.

Bring your chair, food and drinks, but please no alcohol – the amphitheatre is a City of Raleigh park.
