In addition to this fine opportunity to hear our wonderful guest artists perform with the 17-piece Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra, please come to our free pre-show lecture by Dr. Will Smith. He will disuss the relationship between Hip Hop and Jazz and discuss our popular and historical music culture.  He is an ethnomusicolist, has written widely-used texts on current Hip Hop culture, and is a fine saxophonist.

The free lecture is at 6:45 in the Temple Theatre, right before the show.
